You never know where love is going to find you.

We met in the summer between our third and fourth grade years. The first time we set eyes on one another, David was in the process of breaking a Coke bottle in the newly paved alley. (It just seemed like the thing to do at the time). Ellen was in the backyard across the alley with her twin brother, Nolen, who shouted, “Let’s go tell Mama!” as they ran into their back door and as David ran into his. Ellen still claims that David threw the bottle at her, and while denying that, David still says that Ellen always liked the bad boys.

After attending school together all the way through The University of Texas at Austin, we started dating just a few months before graduation, and married on New Years Day 1983.

Our time in Austin left an indelible mark, and we swore we would be back. But between our busy careers and raising two great kids, it quickly became a retirement goal.

And then, one day, we found ourselves here with a great desire to create and to serve. We had so much to be thankful for, and we were driven by a desire to share our love of this area with others. And what better time to do that but on the most important day of their lives?

So now we get to spend our days helping couples realize their own dreams, and giving them a team to lean upon while creating memories they’ll carry for the rest of their lives.

We are so grateful that we get to do this every day. And we are especially grateful that we get to do this together.
